Sheoyki Jones

Program Manager | Creative Industries, Invest Atlanta

 

 

Originally from Columbus, Ms. Jones attended the University of Mississippi, where she obtained her Bachelor’s in Paralegal Studies. After obtaining her degree, Ms. Jones began working in the legal field. Simultaneously, Ms. Jones launched her first entrepreneurial venture as a Talent Manager. Ms. Jones managed the career of an aspiring model turned international model and a singer/songwriter. Ms. Jones landed her model talent jobs in New York Fashion Week, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, HBO Bessie, National and International campaigns, and International Milan Fashion week. For her singer/songwriter she has managed the development of her first EP, secured performance and songwriting opportunities and built Artist Brand. In 2015, Ms. Jones joined Invest Atlanta and fell in love with the mission and role that economic development agencies plays in the local communities. 

In 2017, Ms. Jones saw the opportunity to combine her entertainment, economic development, and legal experience in Invest Atlanta. She took the initiative to activate the film and entertainment target cluster for Invest Atlanta, in which there was little activity. In a few months, she created a new program, in collaboration with the Mayor's Office of Film and Entertainment, the $1.25M Creative Industries Loan Fund, to invest in local content creators. In addition to her efforts, she focuses on educating the local creative talent, companies and high-profile individuals on the city's resources available to support their investment. Ms. Jones focus is not only to identify and create opportunities to invest, retain and grow the local creatives, but to create equitable opportunities for the entertainment industry to be successful in the city of Atlanta. Her tenacity in this role landed her a newly created position to the company, Program Manager of Creative Industries.

Outside of work, she serves as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the International Development Council, Board Member of the Atlanta International Night Market, Honorary Member of World Affairs Council of Atlanta and the Atlanta Business League. Ms. Jones finds great joy in paying it forward, as she serves as a mentor to non-profit organizations. The Young Elite, Paroled 2 Pride and Usher’s New Look. She has been recognized by the Metro Atlanta Chamber, as an influencer in the City of Atlanta. She has been recognized by Rolling Out Magazine as a “Sister with Superpower.” She has also been recognized by The 20 ATL as Influencer of the Year. Ms. Jones is dedicated to using her platform to uplift the community that she serves and ensuring that economic development is inclusive and equitable for all industries.
