ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

The Elephant in the Room, Inc.   is a 501(c)(3) charity organization that was founded in 2017 for the purpose of helping others who do not have the courage or knowledge on how to help themselves deal with the effects of mental health. Many ask, “What does the elephant in the room mean?”

Elephant in the Room: A metaphorical idiom for an obvious problem or risk that no one wants to discuss, in this case — mental health. 

Mental health is an issue that spans socioeconomic, racial, and religious divides. Despite its prevalence, we often avoid discussing it and opt instead for the comfort of silence. Our mission at The Elephant in the Room, Inc. is to promote healthy minds through education and open dialogue surrounding mental health.
